WPC

Equipment Type Approval (ETA) is an approval that has to be obtained from WPC before importing any wireless device into India which doesn't require a WPC License and functions in the de-licensed frequency band. Such equipment's include products like Bluetooth devices, mobile phones, wi-fi technology, RFID and others.

ISI

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) offers an ISI Marking scheme for all products covered under the Mandatory List. ISI mark is a quality mark used to depict the grade for company products in India. Every product which put this mark reflects the trust and safety of the product.

TEC

TEC refers to Telecom Engineering Centre, The Department of Telecommunications, guides TEC Approvals for Telecom Equipment, for connection to public networks or interface with them. Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS)

The Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) requires manufacturers of specified electronics items to register with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to declare conformity to Indian standards. Only manufacturers, not importers or sellers, can obtain a BIS license, although importers can act as Authorized Indian Representatives. Each manufacturing location, product, brand, or trademark requires a separate BIS license. IEC Certificate

The Import Export Code, also known as the IEC, is a mandatory licence for importers and exporters to carry out import and export activities in India. The IEC Code is a 10-digit code issued by the DGFT (Director General of Foreign Trade) to ensure seamless import-export activities. ISI CERTIFICATE

The procedure for grant of BIS Certification Marks Licence begins with the filing of application in the prescribed application form by the manufacturer desirous of obtaining the licence. A licence is granted for varieties of products covered under a given Indian Standard. The form along with all technical documents are required to be submitted to the branch office under whose jurisdiction the manufacturing unit is located. On scrutiny of the application and enclosed documents at the facilitation counter, if the application is found complete in all respects, it is recorded and assigned an application number. The application is acknowledged and the number is conveyed to the applicant across the counter for future reference. A second stage scrutiny (Technical Scrutiny) of application will be undertaken thereafter.

Udyam Registration Certificate

The Udyam Registration Certificate is an e-certificate that gets issued to MSMEs when they register themselves on the MSME Ministry’s Udyam portal. It was introduced by the government in July 2020 against the backdrop of the revision in the classification of MSMEs. The Udyam portal aims to streamline the MSME registration process by replacing the previous Udyog Aadhaar Registration/Memorandum (UAM) e-filing process. Udyam Registration is a self-declaration-based, fully online, paperless, and costless process. After startup registration, MSMEs are allotted an “Udyam Registration Number” that serves as their operational and legal identifier across the country. WPC/ETA

Products with radio and/or wireless functionalities which are imported or manufactured and marketed in India must have an equipment type approval (ETA) certificate from the Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) wing of the Ministry of Communications of the government of India. This includes products with Bluetooth, wireless local area network access technology (Wi Fi), small digital radios (Zigbee), and radio frequency identification (RFID) among others.
