Our collection centres shall collect the E-waste from our Producer Members and send it to our associate recyclers for disposal and recycling.
Backed with highly experienced team from our parent companies, ETCO E-waste Recycler Pvt. Ltd, Jaipur and SBM, Uttar Pradesh who are into E – waste Recycling business since last 5 years gives us more edge and expertise to handle E-waste as compare to our few competitors. We have our dedicated branch office at Delhi to coordinate with CPCB/BIS.
PRO CONNECT is a established Producer responsibility Organization to address one of the most neglected and unorganised sectors in India of E-waste management. We are bridging the gap between Producers, Consumers and E–waste recyclers. Electronic waste has emerged as one of the most toxic waste streams across the world. India, which has emerged as the world’s second largest mobile market, is also the fifth largest producer of e-waste, discarding roughly 18.5 lakh tonnes of electronic waste each year, a study says. Telecom equipment alone accounts 12 percent of the e-waste. Only 1.5 percent of e-waste generated in India gets recycled.
This can be attributed to nearly zero awareness about e-waste and its recycling, as well as the fragmented nature of the unorganized sector and its apathy to waste collection and recycling. The unorganized sector consists of mostly of shops and industries which engage contract labourers and are dealers of electronic equipment. Old electronic equipment from this sectoris often sold to dismantlers. Most of the e-waste generated from this sector is often dumpedor dismantled, instead of being recycled properly.
(INFORMAL WAY OF RECYCLING E-WASTE)
With India’s e-waste generation estimated to reach 52 lakh tonnes in 2020, the future doesn’t look too bright, unless stringent recycling procedures are followed. Most importantly the unorganized sector should also be brought under proper supervision and monitoring, so that majority of the e-waste generated could be recycled properly.
We at PRO CONNECT are committed to provide channel between producers, consumers and E-waste Recyclers hence, generated E-waste in India will be recycled properly without harming the environment further.
